Books I'm Currently Reading, or Should Be Reading
I'm building a new website, and the template I'm using had a placeholder called "Current Reading List," which I thought was as good a place as any to start the blog. After all, it is the blog of a writer. So here goes:
I just finished Thunderhead, by Neal Shusterman. It's the second book in the Arc of a Scythe series, which is a deep and at times slow YA series that I've been thoroughly enjoying (though if I'm being completely honest, there were some long parts of Thunderhead that were a bit tough to get through). I won't spoil it for you, but if you're look for a slow-paced, wholly original YA series, I highly recommend it.
Since I completed it last night, I've decided the start the third book in the series, The Toll. I'm a little intimidated by it's length at 637 pages. I know that's an odd thing for a writer to say, but I'm a slow reader and this one will take me a while to get through.
I'm also currently re-reading the Kylie Scott romance, Lick, which is just such a good, fun read. If you love HEA romance with a healthy dose of hotness, check it out.
I also always like to be reading something non-fiction. As a big fan of Jon Krakauer, I need to dip my toe into the few books of his that I've not read, and get inspired. His books are beautiful and the subject matter always matter of fact and difficult to digest (especially if you're overly empathetic, like me).
And then of course, as always, I'm reading a ton of content on Medium, as well as beta reading my friend's latest romance novel. So as slow of a reader as I am, the list will continue to grow. Thankfully, I never tire of words. What are you reading?
